This summer, art has taken the form of painted benches and planters around Purcellville. Like the wine barrel project that Discover Purcellville organizer Michael Oaks completed last year, this project is “eye catching” and extremely successful. Just seeing the color around town has made Purcellville look amazing and the detail/time that went into each bench and planter is unbelievable.
The project caught the attention of my son, who turned looking for the display into the Purcellville version of the “license plate game”. Yesterday, we decided to go around town and find as many of them as we could. We plan to look for more in the coming weeks as the display runs through Oct 31st, and have captioned the approximate locations of the ones we have found.
On November 11th, the benches will be auctioned off to raise money for community projects. For more information, visit the Discover Purcellville Painted Benches and Planters page.
