Ashburn is located on the eastern side of Loudoun County about 10 miles away from the county seat of Loudoun located in Leesburg, VA. As an original stop on the original W&OD railroad, the town center has been around for many years, and has been the center of growth in Loudoun County for over twenty of those years with many affordable home options.

Ashburn has grown to encompass Brambleton, Goose Creek and One Loudoun, providing a large number of shopping and entertainment options including the recently opened Lost Rhino Brewery and Alamo Theater. Neighborhoods include: Ashburn VillageAshburn FarmBrambleton, and Broadlands.

Ashburn is also widely known as the center of a variety of tech businesses with Amazon, AOL, Cyrus One and several others having large data center presences here.

Schools in Ashburn

Ashburn, VA is located within Loudoun County and has many elementary, middle and high schools located within the 20147 and 20148 zip codes. These schools include Hillside Elementary, Eagle Ridge Middle and Stone Bridge High School. Transportation and the Coming Metro

As Ashburn has risen to become the number one destination for people moving to Loudoun, so has the traffic. Major corridors and roads in the area include Route 7, 28, Loudoun County Parkway and Waxpool Road. Commutes to Reston, Herndon, and Tysons Corner are quite reasonable, depending on the time of the day. Many Ashburn residents start their day early so as to avoid the expensive tolls on the Dulles Greenway, or the Dulles Toll Road.

In 2020, the Metro connection to Loudoun County is expected to be completed, with an opening date sometime thereafter. There will be three stations in Loudoun including Dulles Airport, Loudoun Gateway (Route 606) and Loudoun Station (Loudoun County Parkway). All three stations will include commuter parking and have already attracted a number of developers to the area who are building new housing, office parks and retail space. Buying in the area directly adjacent to the metro will look to be a great investment for homeowners over the next few years as the system comes online.
